MOT Designs Socials Strategy 

Expanding Social Media Presence Into Affiliate Marketing

Overview:

    Mot Designs is a New York-based events and set design company that also caters to interior styling clients. Initially focused on set & event designs, Mot Designs sought to diversify its social media presence by showcasing its interior styling work. The primary objective was to offer educational content to attract new clients and promote product recommendations to build an affiliate status and generate passive income.


Process:

    I employed a multifaceted strategy to expand Mot Designs' social media reach, starting with the acquisition of an affiliate status with Amazon. This marked the foundation for promoting products and providing recommendations. Our ultimate aim was to establish a foothold in Amazon's Affiliate program and subsequently broaden our product promotion efforts to include other retailers.   

1. Pinterest: Leveraging Mot Designs' substantial following on Pinterest, I crafted curated collection boards, highlighting our favorite interior styling products from Amazon. Each pin featured an affiliate link, allowing clients to browse, click, and purchase, thereby earning commissions for Mot Designs.


2. TikTok: To extend the promotion of curated collections beyond our existing client base, I developed a consistent and brand-aligned format for TikTok videos. This template allowed us to feature products seamlessly and guide viewers to our Pinterest link for further shopping and purchases. Additionally, I created educational TikTok content showcasing how Mot Designs styles and uses our recommended products. I referred to TikTok’s creative center and trending hashtags to continuously create content that was in line with current trends. 



3. Instagram Stories : "Friday Finds": To garner attention from other brands, we introduced the "Friday Finds" series on Instagram Stories. Each Friday, we unveiled a curated collection of our favorite interior products discovered during the week, while tagging the respective brands. To enhance engagement, we initiated polls to gauge viewer interests in specific themes, brands, and items. This valuable input enabled us to continually curate collections that resonated with our target audience.


Outcome:

    The implementation of our expanded social media marketing strategy has proven to be a tremendous asset for MOT Designs. It has not only generated passive income but also bolstered their reputation with additional brands. By offering educational and interactive content, MOT has experienced a noticeable uptick in user engagement. The curated collections of favored products have also streamlined client work for MOT Designs, serving as a visual library that they can readily reference when collaborating with new clients. This comprehensive success underscores the effectiveness of our social media marketing initiatives.
